Helena for Princess Maya

PATTERN
Pattern:  Helena
Pattern Designer:  Alison Green Will
Pattern Review:  This is a very easy pattern.  It is well written and easy to follow.  I left off the ties in the front, and added a small pewter clasp.  Additionally, in order to keep the picot hem from being too bulky I split my 4 ply yarn into two 2 ply strands and used the 2 ply strands to sew up the hem.  If I were to knit this again I would use a size 3 needle to do the front edge and collar.  Size 2 was a little tight and it pulls on the fabric.

YARN
Brand:  Knit Picks
Type Comfy Sport
Fiber Content:  75% Pima Cotton, 25% Acrylic

Actual Color:  pale purple
Yarn Review:  This is my third project with some weight of Comfy.  I am addicted to it.  It is extremely soft and great for baby or adult clothing.  I will use it again and again and again.

PROJECT
Needles:  Size 6 - body, Size 2 - trims
Gauge:
Completed:  February 5, 2010
Completion Time:  Approximately 18 days.
Project Review:  This was a great, fairly quick project.  I enjoyed working on it and I can't wait to give it to the intended recipient.  I would recommend this project and may make it again if someone has a baby.  My only complaint is the very sore finger I got from the pointy #2 needles.
